im worried my baby volition smother herself considering she volition only sleep if her blanket is completely roofing her face and she wont motion it and wakes up almost of the time when i motility it. also when she wakes in the night if i have her blanket off she will shove her confront in it and fall back asleep i want to simply get out it but i dont want to wake upwardly to a bluish baby shes 6 and a half months onetime

You audio similar such a lovely caring mum. A few of my nephews and nieces likewise did this (I have 10 nieces/ nephews). At that place should be enough air in there and movement of air for her to breathe only perhaps you should accept a chat with your health visitor?

My son slept on his tummy from a young age every bit he slept meliorate and I used to constantly check him anxiously. It can be nerve racking.

But I'm sure she will be fine but you could sleep train her to manage without it if you desire?

she would but be able to slumber if i breastfed her to slumber which would take an hour because she used me as a pacifer, she wont take real pacifiers she just screams. she was waking upward at least six times at night until i couldnt take it anymore and i started giving her formula at nighttime (two-6oz depending on how hungry she is) and she started simply waking upwards once or twice at dark and i give her the bottle and her blankey and she flips information technology over her head or bunches information technology upwardly and pushes her confront in it. im and so happy to be getting sleep but im ever waking upward and looking at her moniter to find that she put the coating over her head over again. i try and take it off when she falls asleep.

don't think there's a problem if cotton / breathable fabric. Infant dc3 did this lots

You accept to either continue removing information technology one time she's comatose. Merely she may put information technology back as she gets bigger. Or sleep train her? I actually did mine at 4 months. Pick up put down is a more gentle method, than CC but takes longer and persistence. It's catchy you love them so much and you exercise non want to upset her with sleep training to manage without the coating on her face but don't desire her to suffocate herself either. Rock and hard identify spring to mind.

I don't see it a problem equally my son did the same....

i do take information technology off when she falls comatose its fine for naps only in the eye of the night she will cry till she gets her blankey this was my sleep preparation i wanted her blankey as a prop instead of me i deceit sleep without a coating over my caput either and so i know how she feels but i brand breath holessad

TheDowager Wed 04-Apr-12 xvi:58:15

So make some breath holes in information technology?

xkatxdollx Wed 04-April-12 17:08:42

My ds has ever slept with his blankie over his face likewise; it's virtually 20cm ten 20cm and designed to be used from birth. Can't call up make and don't want to wake him to check. Think it'southward fine tho, at half dozen months he tin swipe information technology off?

naturalbaby Wed 04-Apr-12 20:19:03

what kind of blanket is it? ds1 did this with a muslin (very sparse cloth) when he was tiny then was happy to have it confronting his cheek/one-half his face up. my other babys had a velour blanket animal so it's quite pocket-size.

BlackOutTheSun Wed 04-Apr-12 20:22:41

dd would only sleep if something was covering her face, i used a muslin.

saladspinner Wed 04-April-12 20:25:22

I think muslin would work too. Think it'southward jellycat? Had a mini teddy in pocket. Gave information technology to him from about 4 months old

HairyButtMonkey Wed 04-Apr-12 20:27:18

My de did this too but with a muslin. It was bang-up for signalling it was nap/bedtime! I would recommend swapping the coating for something thinner and more than breathable. They do grow out of it but I institute information technology tends to freak other people out

xkatxdollx Wed 04-Apr-12 20:42:28

ill have to expect for one merely until i go one everyone else merely left the blanket on their faces?

CruciFlisspaps Wed 04-Apr-12 20:48:13

xkatxdollx Don't forget, at 6mo babies are perfectly capable of rolling over and sticking themselves face down in the mattress - so a blanket over the face shouldn't be a problem smile It's unlikely that your DD will smother herself with a coating. What near if you give her a cellular coating (the ones people use for newborns with lots of holes in)?

A muslin square is a very thin piece of fabric that can be used for anything from a comforter to a bib or a full general cleaning cloth. Very handy.
